We are proud to sponsor the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team (HMT), a student team dedicated to accelerating sustainable maritime technology.

HMT, which was founded by students at TU Delft, is developing a new hydrogen-powered hydrofoil boat this year! As a sponsor, Flying Fish is committed to supporting HMT's mission. Our engineers provide practical advice on hydrofoil engineering, control and electric propulsion. We are excited to be a part of this groundbreaking project, and can't wait for the official launch of HMT's new boat on May 8th!The predecessor of the HMT was the TU Delft Solar Boat Team. The Solar Boat 2014, on the picture, was the first single-track hydrofoil boat developed by the Team.

The foils were designed by our co-founders Johan Schonebaum and Gijsbert van Marrewijk, while Gerben Schonebaum served as the chief engineer and Gijs Bruining as the chief electronics engineer. This boat could foil 24 km/h on the power equivalent of just an electric water kettle!

Now, 9 years later, we are proud to support HMT's talented and dedicated students as they work to advance sustainable maritime technology.
